Hey Band!
Congratulations on a fine performance Friday night. We are very proud of the hard work that you have put into band this year. We also want to commend those of you who got up early to attend the All- State Help session last Saturday. Continue to work hard individually, and as sections. Calendar Update!!
Tall City Marching Contest - October 3 – in Midland
We’ve been waiting for our district to agree to pay for this trip and received this on Friday. You will get a complete itinerary for this trip when all the details are worked out. Tentative plans are to leave on Friday morning for San Angelo, perform at the football game and stay overnight in San Angelo; travel to Midland (2.5 hours) on Saturday morning, performing that morning at the contest and leave for home around 1:00, getting us back to Amarillo around 6 Saturday evening. Lunch on Saturday would be the only meal that you will need to pay for. Having this marching contest and an out of town San Angelo football game on the same weekend presented us with this unique opportunity to compete with other bands that we usually see in a “state year”.
Important Future Events:
October 10
Pre UIL Performance, Dick Bivins Stadium
Warm-up, change, travel over to the stadium from 3-5 with finals later that evening (which we expect to be in) Grand champion and recognition of outstanding color guard and percussion will be part of this competition.
October 17
UIL Region Marching Contest, Dick Bivins Stadium
Mr. Collins, Mr. Nuckols, Mrs. Collins
